The owners of The Firing Line welcome you to The Firing Line Web Site and extend an open invitation to visit our facility in Pearl River, New York.

Our aim is to offer you top quality shooting equipment and accessories, as well as the means to handle and use firearms safely. At The Firing Line, the emphasis is always on safety and education!

We provide qualified, patient instructors (male and female) for the benefit of new firearm owners needing initial instruction in the proper handling and usage of firearms, with constant focus on safety.

An assortment of in-house handguns and rifles are available for evaluation by our customers, prior to making that all important first purchase (use of handguns is regulated by current state policy requirements). The Firing Line offers a serious, comprehensive program of education for men, women and teens, ranging from beginner to advanced study. Instruction is geared toward learning the proper use and handling of firearms. For those interested individuals, we also offer an NRA Instructor Certification program.

The Firing Line provides courses in the art of self-protection, taught by internationally renowned instructors like John and Vicky Farnum , and John Perkins . These courses will provide you with basic and advanced tactical handgun skills, as well as non-lethal skills--from beginner level to professional.

Following is a more detailed summary of our educational programs:

Introduction to Rifle
Offered as a public service to the community for youths and adults to improve general firearm safety and awareness. Introduction to firearm safety and handling. Classroom instruction and on-range shooting instruction. We supply the rifles and ammunition. Individual or Group.

NRA Introduction to Handguns
Prerequisite program for pistol licensing in the states of New York and New Jersey. 4 hours. (call for price and times)

John Farnum Beginner's Course
Requires a handgun license. How to use a handgun correctly. (call for price and times)

John Farnum Advanced Course
Pre-requisite: Beginner's Course. Continued instruction and practice in using a handgun correctly. (call for price and times)

John Perkins "Bare Hands to Hand Guns"
Dynamic hands-on course in real world armed and unarmed self defense. (call for price and times)

NRA Instructors Course
Extensive course of instruction taught by an NRA Coach.

John Farnum

John Farnum is one of the world's top authorities on defensive shooting and tactics. He is a combat veteran of the Vietnam War, a major (Ret.) in the U.S. Army Reserve, and a police officer with many years of practical experience. In addition, Mr. Farnam is an acclaimed and prominent author, lecturer, expert witness, consultant, and professional firearms training specialist.
